Humanchat isn't open yet. This explains, in plain words, what we do with the little we collect while you're on the waitlist.
The short version
We collect your email so we can tell you when Humanchat opens. If you tell us your city or whether you want to learn or teach, we use that to decide where to open and who to invite first. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we only email you about Humanchat.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms:
- Waitlist form: your email, whether you want to learn or teach, your city (optional), and a few optional answers about what interests you.
- Say hi form: your email and the short message you write.
If you send us an email or message directly, we keep that conversation so we can reply.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your details to tell you when Humanchat opens, to understand demand in each city, and to reply to you. We do this because you asked us to: you gave us your details and agreed when you pressed the button. That is called consent, and you can take it back at any time.
Who handles it
This website and its forms run on Netlify, which stores the form submissions for us and sends us notifications. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them when you visit. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking tools on this site at the moment. If that changes, we will update this page first.
How long we keep it
We keep your details until Humanchat has launched and we have told you, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. If we later want to keep you on a list after launch, we will ask you again.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of this, send us a note through the Say hi form on the home page and we will reply personally. If you are in the UK and think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Humanchat is for adults. Please do not join the waitlist if you are under 18.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top. If we ever want to use your details for something new, we will ask you first.
Be there when it opens
Humanchat isn't live yet. We're starting in London, and the first people on the waitlist will help shape it. One email when we open, nothing else.
